Davies Seedling

In some older heritage fruit lists, names very similar to Davies Seedling appear – sometimes as “Davies’ Seedling” – but they are obscure and not well documented with reliable descriptions or histories in mainstream pomology. 



Some horticultural catalogs and apple registers list Davies Seedling as a named seedling from the 20th century, but little descriptive information survives (e.g., fruit characteristics or origin) in those sources.  

It’s possible that if the name comes from regional orchard records, it could be a local or historical seedling apple that never became widely propagated or officially codified – similar to many local seedling apples that existed before systematic variety registration.
