Malus domestica. Late, Dessert. Origin Oxon. c.1927

Apples on a tree with green leaves, yellow and red skin.

Oxford Conquest was raised in Eynsham, Oxfordshire in 1927 by Frederick Wastie. The variety is a cross between a Blenheim Orange and Court Plendu Plat.

Oxford Conquest is a large dessert apple and the tree is moderately vigorous and upright and produces fruit on spurs. It is self-sterile and requires a pollination partner from group 3.

The apples ripen quite late in the year, usually in November and will keep in storage for three months. The base colour of the apple is yellow, washed bright red or pink on the sun-exposed face. The flesh is yellowish and sharp when first picked but becomes richer and sweeter in December.
